Previous Post: Outside Manila? Open An Account in CitisecOnline
Last Dec 2012 was my 2nd Anniversary with COL Financial
(previously known as CitisecOnline). I am very satisfied with the outcome of my 2 years with
investing in Philippine Stock Market so I thought of sharing those days
when I started with just Php 5,000.00.
I am a fan of Bo Sanchez. I heard a lot of stories about
him. I attended “The Feast”, bought books he wrote and read the story of his
life. One time, I knew about his club called “Truly Rich Club”. It was in the
Club’s website that I was able to download his free e-book “My Maid Invests in
Stock Market.. And Why You Should Too." This opened my eye to a new world,
a world I never dreamed of entering: the Philippine Stock Market.
When I was in College, my friend talked about his professor
investing in Stock Market. As she was enthusiastically telling me that her
professor invites them to invest their small amount of money, I disregard the thought of
putting my savings there (if I have any). Just imagining those graphs makes me
afraid. I thought it was too risky because Stock Market is something I am not
familiar with. But when Bo introduced CitisecOnline, I never thought I would be
able to join with a small amount (because I was thinking it would cost me
millions). So I told myself, I will definitely try it when it’s still a small
amount to risk.
I opened an account in CitisecOnline
With no idea how stock market works, I went to Philippine
Stock Exchange Building in Ortigas, filled out my form in CitisecOnline,
applied for Easy Investment Program (EIP) and deposited Php 5,000.00. (Click on the choices if you are interested to open an account: Have time to go to their office or Want to send forms to through Courier).
My First Purchase Order
So excited when my account got activated, I bought 2 stocks:
RFM and SMPH. Bo mentioned that you should buy a stock that you know. I know
SMPH but since it is Christmas season at that time, I thought of buying RFM
because they might have large sales for their products like pasta and sauces.
That’s how clueless I am as to what I should buy and letting my own analysis do
the decision making. It was really tough not knowing what and when you should buy. By March, I decided to join the Truly Rich Club because I
know it would be hard to do it on my own. I need guidance.
Officially A Truly Rich Club Member
Part of what the Club gives when you join is an article
called “Stocks Update”. In this Article, you can see the suggested stocks to
buy, the “Buy Below Price” and the “Target Price”. When the price of the stocks
suggested is lesser than or equal to the “Buy Below Price”, you can buy the
stocks. When the value of the stock is within the “Buy Below Price” and the “Target
Price”, you wait and when it hits the “Target Price” (or a few cents near it),
you sell. It was a lot better when I joined the club. I had a clear vision of
what to buy and the proper timing of putting the buy and sell orders. The
Stocks Update is like a traffic light for me, it tells me when to stop, when
to wait and when to go.
The First Stock Sold
When I saw the list of suggested stocks, SMPH is included but RFM is not. So I decided to sell RFM even with 2% loss disregarding the dividends
I received from the company. First Stock bought, first stock sold, first loss.
Not a good start huh? But I was convinced to do it because in the future, I
might lose a bigger amount if I don’t sell it right away. As I’ve mentioned, I
don’t have much idea about RFM and I don’t know whom to ask when to sell
it.
My Earnings In Two Years
With Truly Rich Club’s help, my portfolio grew to more than
twice my monthly salary now. By the end of the year, I am targeting to have it
4 times my monthly salary (meaning doubling what I have now). I’m really excited
about it and I am very thankful to Bo Sanchez’s Truly Rich Club. It has been
blessing me ever since I started joining. So if you are also starting your
investment in Philippine Stock Market, I invite you to join the Club. You’ll
learn a lot plus you are helping Bo Sanchez to support his missions like
Anawim.

Hi Luke,
DeleteI am happy to see a comment like yours. Thank you for visiting.
It's good na habang bata ka pa, you are planning to invest na.
What I can advise is for you to pursue investing. Act now while you're young and develop the discipline of saving regularly a portion of your baon. Start small but start early. Years from now, magugulat ka na lang, malaki na yung shares mo sa mga companies na nabibili mo.
I started with 5k as a minimum opening sa COL Financial. Monthly I set aside a portion of my salary, yun yung pinapambili ko ng mga stocks na suggested ng Truly Rich Club. Pag nahit yung target price, I sell. Then I reinvest whatever I get from selling.
I hope you can start as soon as possible. The market is down now, and it's a good time to buy because it's like a "3 month sale or longer" in stock market.
If you have more questions, just post a comment here or reply to my mail.
Thank you!
Regards,
Cath

Well, being a fan of Bro.Bo, I was inspired with his teachings on investing money and to become truly rich. I also want to invest like you do :)
ReplyDeleteI want to invest while I am still young :) but i am too afraid to take a risk, especially now that my salary is quite low for i am still an entry level... Can you help me how can i start? :) im planning to start investing on 2014. right now, i plan to save money from my basic salary.
Is COL better than Acord Capital? coz i have a friend who suggested me to choose acord as my online broker...
Thanks,
Em
Hi Em,
DeleteYou can actually start learning even if you are not yet ready to open an account in an online broker. Save regularly until you have that 5k to open an account in COL Financial. I refer this online broker because I have been using their system since I started. I cannot compare it with others since I haven't experienced using other systems like Acord Capital. So if you have questions in COL Financial, you can freely ask me. :)
Regarding your interest in Stock Market, please start with this simple guide from my blog.
http://pocketwisepinoy.blogspot.com/2013/04/philippine-stock-market-guide-for.html
There are also other materials which you can see from my blog. Just go through my archive. You can see posts on how to buy and sell stocks, explanation of some terminologies and how to open accounts even when you are abroad or outside metro manila.
If you have further question, please feel free to reach out to me again.
God bless and Happy Investing.

Hi Aloha,

Hi there, I'm really interested with this but I have no idea how and where to start. I'm a college student but I want to earn money on my own. I do have some savings already, I just want to know how much I could possibly earn and how long does it take to really start earning?
ReplyDeleteEarning in stock market depends on what company you are investing in and how it is doing in the market. You earn when you sell shares in a price that is higher than your buying price. It's the same as in a business where you gain profits if you sell a product at a price higher than how much you've bought it. One more type of earning is the dividend (may it be cash or stock). Hope this answers your query. Thanks for posting a comment. :)
DeleteHi Cath! I'm very interested but I have no idea what to do first. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. :) I just sent you a mail. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks for dropping by.
Deletehi cath.thank you for your repli.question.if I want to buy stocks na.panu ko malalaman kung alam ko yung stocks na binibili ko..or any description before I buy stocks..
DeleteHi. For you to know what stocks to buy, you can do your own research on the company you are planning to invest in. There's a lot to choose from. The only question is, which one is the best choice? That is actually what Truly Rich Club (TRC) is trying to answer.
DeleteTRC does their own research on companies and narrows down the options. They give a list consisting of 5 to 10 companies depending on how many good companies are great investments according to their research . In that list, they give amounts as to when you should BUY, HOLD or SELL. It's like a traffic light which guides you which action to take. If TRC says in its stock update, "Buy Company XYZ when its below 5.00 pesos per share and sell if it's 8.00 pesos" and the current price in the market is 4.00 pesos, you BUY. if it's more than 5.00 pesos, you HOLD. Do not buy. If it reaches 8.00 pesos, you sell. That's how easy life becomes when you are a truly rich club member who gets the stock updates. :)
I hope this clarifies your queries.
Let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks!

Hi JM,
DeleteThank you for visiting my page and I really appreciate you leaving a comment regarding your interest to invest while you are still very young.
In investing, time (aside from cash) is one of the most important factors to succeed in this venture. So if you are asking if it's ok to invest in stock market at an early age, it is! However, you need to take note that you should have proper guidance on what stocks to buy, when to buy then and when to sell.
In my case, I am not an expert in analyzing graphs regarding company performance and predicting what will be the value of the shares within months or years from now. I needed someone to help me on the researches so I joined Truly Rich Club. As a start, I recommend this club. This will give you materials that will surely aid you in investing in stock market.
If you are interested, just go to www.crmapili.trulyrichclub.com. You will get your free ebook "My Maid Invests in Stock Market and Why You Should Too" when you visit the page. Just type in your email ad.
Hope this helps. Thank you for your time!

ReplyDeleteI also want to invest in the phil stock market. Can you teach me how?
Same here Catherine.. I'm very interested to invest.. I attended the seminar in PSE but that was years ago.. Can you also invest even when you're working overseas? Need help on this..
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine.. will u please send me an email regarding investing in the stock market (how to start, tips etc)? My email is liz_beauty2000@yahoo.com Appreciate the help, thank you!
ReplyDeletePag nakapag open ka ba at nakabili ka ng stocks kailangan ba na everyday ka mag check sa galaw ng market or everyweek? Please help gusto ko rin matutu para makapag invest ako. Email me at feb_1080@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHi Feb,
DeleteRegarding sa question mo if you need to check the market everyday or everyweek, it's really up to you. Sa case ko kasi, I get stock updates from Truly Rich Club. From that electronic newsletter, they provide a list of stocks that they recommend to buy based on their research. Merong prices na din na nakalagay kung kelan sya magandang bilhin (Buy Below Price) at kung kelan sya magandang ibenta (Target Selling Price). With the stock update, I don't have to check everyday. Pag may funds ako, icoconsult ko lang yung list na bigay ng TRC then kung ok pa yung price, bibili ako ng shares.
Kung wala kang guide, that's the time I think you have to make your own research of what companies are good to invest in.
Let me know if you need more info. :)
Thanks!

Cath

ReplyDeleteHi Rhea,
DeleteSure. I'll send you an email.
Regarding monitoring, through internet you can buy or sell shares so there's no need to go to Philippines to buy shares. You just have to apply in COL Financial for an account then once you have your account, you can start posting your buy and share orders through their site.

ReplyDeleteHi Jhojo,
DeleteThank you!
Yes, you're right. I think gusto naman talaga mag-invest ng mga kababayan natin. It's just that, they don't have the information to guide them. Yun yung purpose ko sa blog na to. Hopefully maraming maging interesado sumubok ng pag-invest. Para naman mga Pinoy ang unang umasenso at hindi mga banyaga. :)
Salamat sa pagbisita sa blog ko.

Cath

Thank you in advance!

Hi Cath,
ReplyDeletekakatapos ko lang basahin ung blog mo and nabasa ko na din ung ebook ni Bo Sanchez...gusto ko gayahin ung investments ng maid nila kahit 2k lang every month just to save.may i know pano if 2k ang investment ko every month? thanks. here is my email add
mikolteichu22@gmail.com
Hi!
DeleteThe initial deposit is 5k. That's their minimum requirement to open an account. Succeeding fundings can be lower than 5k. So I suggest, save your cash until you have 5k to open the account and after you have open the account, you can start buying with your initial 5k deposit. Then deposit 2k every month to purchase additional shares.
Hope that clarifies.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thanks for commenting!

Hi Ms Cat..
ReplyDeleteI'm OFW gusto ko snang I try ang stock market.Among requirements ang kailangan and if need to go back to the PH to join or its okay to online
Hi Weng, you can submit the forms and other requirements via courier. You don't have to go back to PH to open your account. Once you received your account details, you can fund your account through BDO remittance since you are outside PH. After COL Financial receives your initial funding, your account will be activated and you can start buying shares. Account is accessed online so you can easily post your buy orders to purchase stocks. Hope that clarifies your query.

ReplyDeleteHi Maam Teresita,

You can definitely invest while doing your profession because everything is accessed online. The buy and sell orders are posted online so you don't have to fall in line just to buy or sell shares.
Choosing the company where you will invest will be the part that might take time as you need to do researches but if you have no time to do researches, you can try getting the guidance from Truly Rich Club. Visit their site: www.crmapili.trulyrichclub.com so you can know more about the club. They provide the list of companies that they have studied to be profitable in a certain period of time. It will be helpful for you as someone new to the market.
Hope I answered your question.

ReplyDeleteWe are a struggling family. my Husband and I are both Gov't employees with both income not enough for the education and needs of my three boys (1 college and 2 grade schoolers). WE attended the Feast just recently upon invitation of a friend. ('coz we wanted to be blessed like the other attendees) That same instance our view in life transformed. We wanted to invest in stock market just like what Bro. Bo suggested but we don't have much money to invest and we don't know how. We were scouting for someone to help us begin our journey in this new endeavor. i am hoping that somebody here can. thank you.

As said last time we made a buy position in NIFTY around 6100-6150 we booked the profit around 6400. All our paid clients made a very good profit. Now for the comingNSE, STOCK TIPS week we suggest all the traders to make a sell position in NIFTY around 6450-6500 with stoploss of 6600 for the target 6250-6100. We know these levels are high but we are very much sure that this is the very safe level to trade. So wait for the level to take your position in the market. Hi! It has been 2 years that I've been very interested on investing in the stock market. However, there was no one who could teach me. May I ask for your help? Can I still invest with only P5000? I would be forever grateful!
ReplyDeleteHi Yvet,
DeleteYou can start with 5000 pesos and just fund your account when you have enough cash again but I highly recommend that you fund your account monthly even with just a smaller amount so that you can develop the discipline. I suggest putting 20% of your salary montly if that's possible. Otherwise, you can invest what's comfortable for you. Thank you for your comment!
Ma. Cathy, I would like to share to Filipinos especially to OFWs to start investing as early as possible to generate huge amount of returns, even without the need of leaving their spouse and children after they got married. Investing helps create passive income. Start saving as much as they can to achieve long term financial freedom and avoid the culture of dependency among children when parents got retired.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you very much for your comment and for encouraging other Filipinos to invest . Time is one of the biggest factor to succeed in this kind of investment. So NOW is the best time to start.
